About

Cathryn was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Cincinnati where, on full scholarship, she attended the Cincinnati Art Academy and studied painting with Julian Stanczak. Seven years after graduating from Cincinati Art Academy, she relocated with her two daughters to Cleveland, Ohio and was awarded full scholarship to attend CIA (Cleveland Institute of Art) where she continued to study painting with Julian Stanczak and Gerald Vandevier.

After graduation from CIA, Cathryn completed several large commissions while working in her studio in The Tower Press Building. In 1976, Cathryn founded a graphic design firm with the intention of specializing in environmental graphics while continuing her painting. Twenty five years later, following a successful business career, Cathryn returned to focus solely on her painting and drawing.

In June of 2017 Crary Museum and Gallery hosted a solo exhibit of Cathryn's most recent work.
