The construction and presence of the Keystone XL Pipeline through the middle of the United States will disrupt the ecosystem of insects, plants and animals. I was inspired to draw the pipeline as part of the food chain. It is a predator, threatening the whooping crane, the wild mountain cat that eats the male greater-sage grouse, and all are dependent upon the already endangered American Burying Beetle.
